2009-2010 Season, "Earth in Translation"
"
He sings in the hands of her old limbs-his orange chest emulates the sun's warmth. Relieved from the chaos
she happily roots herself deep
into the Earth. Calls of sirens, drills, and passerby's surround them. They
go unnoticed and unheard, but so is the life of birds and trees.
How often is that song drown out by the noise of the city?
Nature speaks its own language, but have our busy lives silenced it?
It's time to reacquaint ourselves with Nature's Voice and
put Earth in Translation. To listen to the cries from deforestation, animal displacement,
and pollution. Our anthropocentric view has caused a break in communication.
As children of one parent we need to take the time to
stop, listen, re-sensitize, and adapt.
